Geektastic CoCo Emulator

I found something on the net the other day that I just had to share. If you are familiar with the TRS-80 computers and Color Computers of the early 80’s, then you probably reflect on using this computer with a little bit of nostalgia. I remember programming really basic and cheesy video games on my CoCo2 as a dorky little kid. If you are of sufficient nerdiness to fondly remember using the CoCo, then check out this online CoCo emulator. For an added bonus trip down memory lane, check out this site where you can download a PC port of Dungeons of Daggorath. That’s right, relive the frustration all over again with the game that is arguably one of the original first person shooter type games.

A recent discussion with my kendo instructor lead to a point where I brought up one of my personal beliefs, that being the fact that sometimes what is perceived as a negative aspect of a person’s personality can sometimes be useful in the right circumstances. I feel that recognizing our own “inner nature” as some call it is very important and that sometimes a trait that may commonly be considered needing of changing or removing, is just fine when left as is and utilized for what it is. Specifically, I was speaking about my own quickness to anger.

Anyone who knows me well knows that I do tend to be rather hot tempered at times. Those who have known me well for many, many years understand this even more so. In our society that so elevates the virtues of what I would call a “prefab personality”, anger is often a four letter word. However, I’ve found that there have been times in my own life where it has completely saved my bacon. My sensei’s opinion was that anger stemmed from fear. Not considering myself a particularly fearful person, I took a few days to ponder this, and here is my conclusion about the nature of fear, and it’s relationship to anger.
