A Morning With Dr. Tabata

I had mentioned in my previous post that I would be keeping track of my workouts for the sake of reflection. Also, if anyone gets any ideas from them, or cares to share ideas, that’s cool too.

Yesterday’s workout consised of a cardio kickboxing class (during which I realized how much my crescent kicks SUCK!) followed by my kendo class, the first part of which was done interval training style.

For today, since I have very little free time on Tuesdays, I went to the park and busted out some Tabata intervals. Here’s the skinny:

I spent most of the day yesterday sitting in front of the computer not really doing anything. Had plenty of work to do, but nothing got done. Now sometimes a person just needs a day off, so it’s no big deal, but I really find that if I get in a good workout, especially a cardio workout in the morning, that my effectiveness at my computer work improves.

I think I’m going to start keeping track of some of my workouts on this site, so I can look back and see where improvements, injuries, or anything else occured, and track progress. Since I know one or 2 of my friends will be reading this, it will be extra motivation to keep up the intensity. Don’t want to seem like a wuss, eh? Anyway here’s today: Read the rest of this entry »
